Alpha Journal ("we", "us", "the app") is a trading-journal and behavioral-coaching app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We keep it plain-English on purpose.

Used to track you across other apps/sites?

No. We do not track you and we do not sell your data.

1. Information you provide

Account: your email address and a password (stored only as a secure hash by our auth provider).
Journal content you create: trades you log — symbol, direction, P&L, risk %, date/time, setups, emotions, notes — and any screenshots you attach.
Preferences & feedback: your settings (dashboard layout, notification and filter choices) and any feedback you submit in-app.

2. Information collected automatically

Push token: if you enable notifications, a device push token so we can deliver them.
Basic diagnostics: standard technical data (app version, platform) needed to run and troubleshoot the service.

We do not collect your contacts, precise location, or advertising identifiers, and we do not use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.

3. How we use your information

To provide the app: store and display your journal, stats, and settings across your devices.
To generate AI coaching and daily affirmations based on your own trading data (see §4).
To send the notifications you opt into (log reminders, economic-news alerts, daily motivation).
To secure the service, prevent abuse, and respond to your feedback.

4. AI processing of your journal

When you use a coaching feature, a summary of your trading data (and the notes for that request) is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate the response. Under Anthropic's API terms, this data is not used to train their models. AI requests are sent through our secure server, never directly from your device with any embedded key.

AI transparency. Coaching, reflections, debriefs, calendar explanations, and daily affirmations are generated automatically by an AI model — not written by a human. AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete, is not professional financial, legal, or medical advice, and should not be relied on as the sole basis for any decision. 5. Service providers we share data with

We use a small set of processors, only as needed to run the app. We do not sell your data.

Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage (your account and journal).
Anthropic — AI coaching generation (see §4).
Resend — sending account/verification emails.
Expo — delivering push notifications.
Apple — app distribution and, if you subscribe, payment processing (we never see your card details).

Economic-calendar data shown in the app comes from a public market feed; no personal data of yours is sent to it.

6. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Every user's data is isolated at the database level (row-level security), so you can only ever access your own records. Screenshots are kept in a private store and served only via short-lived links. Your login session is stored in the device's secure keychain.

7. Data retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete individual trades any time in the app. To delete your entire account and all associated data, email us at the address below and we'll remove it promptly.

8. Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Email us and we'll help. Depending on where you live (e.g., EU/UK/California), you may have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA, which we honor.

9. Children

Alpha Journal is intended for adults (17+) and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

10. Changes

If we materially change this policy, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in-app.
